E-Newsletter Processing of Personal Data Information

As the data controller under the Personal Data Protection Law numbered 6698 (“the Law”), the Punto24 Independent Journalism Association (“the Association”) respects the security of your personal data. Therefore, we would like to inform you of the processing of your personal data as part of the activities we carry out. Your personal data, as listed below, are only processed:

In keeping with provisions of the law and principles of integrity;
Maintaining the accuracy of the data you share and in the most up-to-date version you have provided;
For clear, explicit and lawful purposes;
In keeping with the purposes of processing, within limits and proportionally;
Only for the duration prescribed by the relevant legislation and that is required for the purposes of processing.

1. Purposes for Which Personal Data are Processed and Duration for Which Personal Data are Kept

Your personal data, consisting of your name, surname, and e-mail address which you provide to us when subscribing to the newsletter may be processed for e-newsletters, event invitations and information or messages on printed or other publications. This data will be kept throughout your subscription and deleted once your subscription ends.

2. To Whom and for Which Purposes the Processed Personal Data May be Transferred

As the website servers we use are located abroad, your personal data may be transferred to servers outside of Turkey, only with your explicit consent and within limits for business purposes, storage and archiving for achieving the purposes outlined in the article above.

3. The Methods and Legal Basis of Collection of Personal Data

Your personal data are collected wholly or partially automatically through the electronic registration form, with your explicit content and for achieving the purposes outlined above.

4. Rights of the Data Subject as per Article 11 of the Law

As the data subject, you have the right to request the following from us, as the data controller, as per Article 11 of the Law:

To learn whether your personal data are processed or not,
To demand for information as to if your personal data have been processed,
To learn the purpose of the processing of your personal data and whether these personal data are used in compliance with the purpose,
To know the third parties to whom your personal data are transferred in country or abroad,
To request the rectification of the incomplete or inaccurate data, if any,
To request the erasure or destruction of your personal data under the conditions referred to in Article 7,
To request reporting of the operations carried out pursuant to sub-paragraphs (d) and (e) to third parties to whom your personal data have been transferred,
To object to the occurrence of a result against you by analyzing the data processed solely through automated systems,
To claim compensation for the damage arising from the unlawful processing of your personal data.

As the data subject, you may convey any requests pertaining to your rights listed above, along with personal identity information and your explanations concerning your rights to the info@platform24.org e-mail address or in writing to the Association at Asmalımescit Mahallesi, Yemenici Abdüllatif Sokak, No:1 Kat:3, 34430, Şişhane, Beyoğlu/İSTANBUL as per the stipulations for applications outlined in the Communique On Principles And Procedures To Be Followed In Fullfillment Of The Obligation To Inform. Your request will be taken up free-of-charge and concluded as soon as possible and in any case within 30 days.
