That Job Is in Distress: Harms Journalism Inflicted on Itself and Those Inflicted on Media by Neoliberalism and the Digital World by Ümit Kıvanç, published as the fifth book of P24 Media Library, has recently become out of print.

This book, distributed for free to journalists, journalism students, and libraries at journalism schools across the country – just as any other book of P24 Media Library – can now be accessed on our website to meet the demand in a context where the Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted our work life and education. We thank our colleagues and academics specializing in communication/journalism for their interest in the book.

We join Ümit Kıvanç in wishing that, with words akin to a summary of the book: “There is no such thing as ‘post-truth.’ There is no such thing as ‘alternative fact.’ There is not even a thing such as finding the truth or possessing the truth. The only thing there is is the search for the truth. May journalism be the flashlight, the binocular, the magnifying glass of the search for the truth. May it be its anchor, pick axe, and sometimes notebook and pen.” We wish you a pleasant reading.
